Groundbreaking for the Bahá'í House of Worship occurred on May 1 1912. Construction really began in 1920. The temple was completed and dedicated on May 1 1953.
The Bahá'í House of Worship is open to people of all religions, races and creeds.
This great piece of architecture can be seen north of Chicago on the Lake Michigan's shore in Wilmette, IL.
