I did two things to bring out the color and the edges. First, I used Multiply blend mode on a duplicate layer, lowering the opacity until the color looked good. This helped quite a bit, but you could still not distinguish the dew drop or the inner petals. Next I used "smart-sharpening," a tutorial written by Leah on the Hidden Elements Retouchpro forum.
In a nutshell...with Leah's method you can isolate edges and sharpen only those that need it. It may not win any awards, but I'm happy!
