Very peaceful and pleasant photo. The emphasis on the reflections makes the calm water stand out, which I think helps the photo emphasize the relaxing feeling. This is assuming the boat doesn't tip over, of course...8^)

Makes me wish I was there.

So calm and peaceful! I like the "more water than trees", thinking it relates more to the fishing and the reflection is more calming than more trees would be. I love that soft fuzzy grass.

I'll be repeating the words of others... beautiful shot! It looks very peaceful to be out there. I like the reflections of the trees a lot too, shows how calm the water is.

Jean, I think this is cropped perfectly. The reflection really makes this picture, and with the rule of thirds, you have a choice of more trees, or more water. I vote for the water. Very nice image - you created a nice mood with this shot.

I REALLY like this photo. It's so pleasant to look at.

That's nice! Beautiful reflections and lovely tranquil colours. I don't mind the horizontal proportions - the reflections look much more interesting than the trees -, but perhaps the boat is too central? I wonder what a portrait orientation would have been like.

I just looked again at Karen's photo which now resides next door, and I note that she placed her shoreline below the mid-line, but I think it works there because it emphasizes the building more which is the subject. Here I think the boat and fisherman would look better placed somewhere in the lower half of the photo, which would put the shoreline near the middle. Criticism of composition is always easy, of course, for the arm chair photographer.

Photo, not photos, sorry.

I think I would have liked this better if the shoreline had been placed at the mid-line of the photos, which would have shown an equal amount of trees above and below. That may violate traditional composition rules, but sometimes the rules have to be ignored.
