This was taken shortly after I brought Janis home. She was about 8 or 9 weeks old here.
I got her from a pet store at the Franklin Mills Mall in Northeast Philadelphia. I remember it was a beautiful day in September and I was off from work. I had thought about getting a kitten but had no intentions on getting one that day.
I went to the mall and passed by a pet store (that went out of business soon afterwards)that had these beautiful, black kittens in the front window. Well, I went in and asked to hold one of the females (at the time I wanted a female kitten). The guy picked up Janis and put her into my arms. She looked up and me and just meowed and immediately I was in a trance. I said I would take her right then and there.
About that time she jumped out of my arms and started running down the mall, and the guy that was helping me chased after her. I knew right then that was MY baby.
The guy apologized and got me a box to carry her home in. The rest is history. :-)
