This was taken in July/August 1964 whilst on a family holiday in Rose Cottage, Chard, Dorset (north of Axminster and on the border with Devon). This bay might be Seatown, south of Chideock, Dorset. I was 16y 9m and waiting nervously for the results of my 9 'O' Levels. Turned out OK, got all 9; three of them at grade 2. I was 6ft 2in and weighed 8st (51kg!). The mackerel were excellent grilled for supper and Dad taught me to eat the cold grilled ones left over with mayonnaise the next morning; heaven! Probably Heinz Salad Cream in 1964.
