I am photographing a work of art made by the hand of man. It represents the power of human intelligence. I've tried to define the character of man by photographing this bridge. Looming in the misty night, it speaks of connection, energy, balance, and power. This bridge is in all of us.

***My God Jen, this is incredible. It is the 13th image of this 14 picture essay, and one of the most powerful images of a bridge I have ever seen. It works magnificently as the third in the four image night segment that ends the essay. It is all about mystery, mist, and lights that look like all-seeing eyes -- sheer power formally centered like a massive transportation machine pushing its weight against the ground and shoving its power into the sky. This image is kinetic energy, Jen -- pure energy and mystery together. Now just take out the big eye on the bottom of the roadway, and you will have another masterwork on your hands.
