Sun was intermittent (mostly absent) as we hiked this trail, but as we passed this patch of lovely lichens, looking like they were coated with a light rime of frost (which they were not), we had a spot of light and warmth. The third and fourth images in this series show a different phase of these lichens, which to me resembled a miniature evergreen forest. Once again, my photography doesn't quite relay the reality of it. But perhaps the idea will come through.
