Bull Elk, Yellowstone

Even with MY long telephoto, pushing me out to 300mm, I might have been too close to this bull elk, at Mammoth Hot Springs, for my own safety. (The quality of my little digicam, a Minolta 7i, is impressive. I've bulked up with a Nikon DSLR with a 640mm digital lens, as of September, 2005 - the quality, at least for the web, is the same but I can double my distance from the animal and obtain about the same image size.)
