Varved lacustrine of the DesMoine lobe overlying red sandy outwash of The Superior lobe. Note position on landscape. Lacustrine was deposited in lake confined with stagnant ice (Ice walled lake) above an outwash plain. The large ice block that dammed water to the left has since wasted away leaving a lake today. East side Big Marine Lake, New Scandia Township. Road cut has since been covered with a retaining wall and is no longer visible.
