Partial Solar Eclipse, December 4, 2002.

Sydney, Australia

Partial eclipse in Sydney, Australia on 4th December, 2002. The sun was partially obscured by smoke from a bushfire which was burning at the time, giving the red colouration. The image has not been manipulated in any way, besides sharpening with USM in photoshop.

Also used Zuiko 2X-A teleconverter: effectively 1000mm @ f/16; Agfa Vista 100, 1/2000 sec. full exif

Having tried many times to just get a picture of a plane in front of the moon, I have an appreciation of the difficulty in capturing these types of shots.
With the addition of a solar eclipse and a bushfire, this really is a remarkable shot !
