Thanks, JimBob. I'd tell you if I remembered. I did this years ago, and used some plug-in filters to make the swirls in background...don't know what they were. Just by looking I can say that the flower itself has a basic outline treated with anisotropic diffuse overlaid onto it (see directions for basic outline in photo art tutorials on my site at http://www.innographx.com/forum ) The sheen comes from blending multiple layers including luminosity mode in the stack somewhere. There's also a tute on my site for the sheen, but this one has been lightened with increased contrast as well.
