The cup is called Lota and the plate is called Tharia.


The smallest cuplike object is actually a lamp holder. People put a form of oil called 'ghee' in it, and then proceed to put some cotton in it. When they light the cotton, you have a light that will burn quite a long time. This is known as a 'Diya'. Very often used with religious ceremonies.
