Four Sadhus at Pashupatinath, Kathmandu

These four Pashupatinath sadhus are completely original and authentic sadhus, as opposed to the fake "take my photo" sadhus who don't fit the part of an authentic sadhu. A sadhu is an ascetic holy man, and a prominent religious figure in Hindu religion and society. They are, by definition, followers of the lord Shiva, the destroyer and regenerator, the mother-like deity. Therefore many carry tridents, smoke hashish for deep meditation, are covered is ashes, and have long dread locks. These sadhus reside at Kathmandu's Pashupatinath Mandir (literally: Temple-place of benevolent Shiva).
