I painted the sign around '89-'90 for Wildwater Joe's in Beckley. Surprised to see it here.

''Me and my other investigators are going there, sometime this year we are all going to pick a spot and stay at it for as long as we can. ''NO JOKE'' since now I have my own Paranormal Investigating Team''.

okay... so i have never been to this place but cant wait for my first tour.. im just not sure why people would think that gaylord white is selfish and greedy.. if that were so he would keep this place hidden and not allow a guest in it. and if it were about money, u would think this place would be up and running and swamped with the sounds of happy children. i must admit if i owned this place i would want it to be a happy and memorable family amusement park. i hope that the day this place comes up for sale(if ever) im still alive and still ready to buy... i would love to come check this place out and see if its really haunted... i have seen and heard spirits most of my life since childhood. if indeed there are spirit's here.. im sure i will find out the day i tour.. if somebody or something is sticking around, wanting answers or not, i will get the message.. its not always our choice to see the unknown.. or even hear them.. i have been on this sight for the last 3 hours.. looking at the pics and reading.. im tired and keep trying to turn computer off, but its like im stuck... sucked in... trapped... i gotta check this place out.. the place is rather spooky at nite....and a little during the day. the man who owns the property is said to be all about money. if it haunted or not, he is all about banking the bucks. there used to be a small roller coaster and he sold it for money. i would have kept it just to keep the originality as close as possible. haunted...maybe, greedy....yes.

I have lived in Mercer County for 31 yrs. As a little girls I went to a concert @ Lake Shawnee when I was a little girl I think it may have been Conway Twitty. Anyway, as an adult I have been to a couple Brothers of The Wheel parties that used to be held here. There were some very strange things that went on and were unexplainable and no I wasn't drinking lol.

My friends and I went to this creepy stinkin trailer last year and there were definitely people livin in it. Lights were on, and we thought we were about to get shot. As we walked closer to the swings, the geese kept making tons of noise, but got quiter the further away we got... and when we left, they totally stopped. :) ... CrEePy!!

I don't know if this place is haunted or not, but I can remember going there as a child. this was in 1947/1948. We stayed in a cabin along side of the lake. There were several other cabins there too. What a fun place it was to visit. I also can remember catching a small fish about the size of a gold fish. What a thrill it was for an 6 yr old child. I can remebmer that day as if it was yesterday.

My Grandmother lives down the road for Lake Shawnee and it doesnt look scarey. But I saw the show about it on 'The Scariest Places on Earth', and I would like to know more about it and I would like some more "scarey" pictures of it.

I just saw a segment about this place on 'The Scariest Places On Earth' and wanted to find out information about it. Thanks for the pictures. It doesn't look so scary in daylight. If you know of any other sites please let me know.
