I agree and my current project is to correct that problem. One of the reasons is I'm editing on a laptop (of necessity): its brightness has led to edits that are much darker on crt's. I also have been blind to blocking of the dark areas as I pursued boldness in the image. Thanks for commenting.

I don't know what you are doing but all your pictures are way too contrasty.
