How surreal! This is like something from the twilight zone, and therefore, mesmerizing!! V

I live across the road from the Lake Shawnee, nothing out of the ordinary has happened. It would be so wonderful if someone could purchase the park and restore it. The current owners have just let the entire thing go to ruin.

All this is so cool... Like the ruins in New York at Flushing Meadows where the 1964 and 65 worlds fair was held... Those buildings still decay. To just see in your mind all the people in these old grounds and the memories from those days... And the now, you see decaying relics of buildings, equipment... It's all so mesmerizing, so fascinating. Takes my breath away. I would pay to walk these old fairgrounds. To the owner, PLEASE allow us visitors to walk the grounds and photograph... I am from Indiana and in the next couple years HOPE to come see them....

I live in Richmond VA and I've heard alot of stories about Lake Shawnee
I heard of a man falling off the ferris wheel
His neck broke and he ended up dying later on
Also
Of the girl in the swing
Where a truck ran her over
And she still swings still
But this is any amazing photograph
Such use of angle
and such work of time

I lived very close to the park from October 2003-July 2005. It was very creepy to look out of my bedroom window and see the rides in the dark! A friend of mine once told me she saw the ferris wheel move, but I never looked long enough to find out for myself!
