Molly's Pup 11-07-26

Part of a Strange Story

On October 26th, 3 boxes - filled with edging for the Retaining Wall Bed - vanished.
The next day, I investigated and found no boxes. However, the edging contents were laying around the groundhog bolt hole. Pieces of edging had also been shoved into the groundhog hole. The rest all lay in a small circle around the hole, but not a hint of what had happened to white cardboard boxes. Hum? My husband had noticed one of the groundhogs in the area the day that the boxes disappeared but didn't pay any attention to what it might have been doing. Later, he asked me if I had removed the boxes for some reason. No, of course not. But where were the boxes? And why were all the contents concentrated only around the groundhog hole that was over 6 feet from where the boxes had sat since July? And why were there pieces of edging stuffed into the hole? The next mystery came when someone or something then closed the groundhog hole with dirt. Not us humans... On November 2nd, when my husband finally picked up the edging strewn all around the now closed hole, he found the dirt in the groundhog hole mixed with leaves and white cardboard - the later probably coming from the missing boxes. The entry hole was blocked totally shut at the entrance by then. Abandoned??? Nope. This groundhog pup showed up today and was using the hole to go in and out of the burrow. It was operational again. Huh? And now, more pieces of the missing white cardboard boxes are suddenly laying around as shreds on top of the ground & next to the bold hole. They hadn't been there yesterday. What on earth is going on?
