Inaugurated in 1731 and built in just 14 years by the renowned architect Filippo Juvarra, the Basilica was commissioned by Duke Victor Amadeus II following a vow he made to Our Lady of Graces in gratitude for the liberation of Turin from the siege of 1706.
The original wooden statue of the Virgin Mary is still preserved inside the Basilica.
The crypt houses the Royal Tombs, where dozens of members of the House of Savoy are laid to rest.
The climb to the Panoramic Dome culminates at a viewing terrace offering breathtaking views of the city and the Alpine range.
