With the neighbors' tree line being wiped out by the storm less than 2 weeks ago, I no longer have to wait for the moon to clear the top of the trees. The trees are gone.
That may explain why the moon was so orange this month. Or maybe all the residue smoke in the air from many different neighbors burning fallen branches and tree limbs in late afternoon (from storm damage) shifted the atmospheric conditions. Or maybe it was that funky mass of clouds moving in and out. And normal moisture or particles in the air. But the moon sure was orange tonight.
Full moon in our time zone was supposedly before midnight on the 26th when I captured this image. Or maybe Alexa the ai built into our smart frig got confused when I asked, & the correct time was just after midnight. Smart appliances sometimes really aren't that smart... Either way, tomorrow is another chance to shoot the full moon again. However, this shot was probably closer to the exact time when full moon actually occurred. Plus, the deep orange color has set it out from most other moons.
Lots of maybes, but this looks like a Halloween season moon to me....
