A cyclist passing by observes the morning scene along the river: a young woman strides ahead of her, while, further back, a couple in love are lost in a kiss, oblivious to the enchanting setting around them. The cyclist lifts her head, deliberately turning her face toward the morning sun. With her eyes closed, she strives not to be unsettled by the sight of the lovers, seeking to forget the person who has just left her. Cycling alone, or walking alone—much like that young woman—this is what she does, gradually learning to find her balance in independence.
She does not realize that, in this position, she casts a shadow of great beauty upon the ground. And just as she is savoring the gentle warmth of the sun and the light breeze caressing her face, the elongated shadow of a taller person approaches from further behind, taking shape right beside her own. ~VVVVV+++~
Le titre est bien approprié. J'aime bien l'ombre qui ajoute à cette pose de cette belle cycliste. L'histoire ne dit pas si elle a fait une grande ballade!! :)
The cyclist’s fitted jacket, dark leggings and tall boots bring effortless elegance to this sunlit riverside scene. Her upright posture and windswept hair give the moment a natural grace, beautifully suited to the title. Strong sunlight casts an elongated shadow of rider and bicycle across the road, drawing the eye towards the right of the frame. The bridge railings, leafy trees and ornate buildings provide a richly textured backdrop, while the embracing couple and passing pedestrian add small stories of their own. The black-and-white treatment unites these details, giving this lively street photograph a timeless, almost cinematic charm....wonderful image, Alain! V
