Le lac de Castillon est un réservoir artificiel créé en 1948 par la construction du barrage de Castillon, mais il fait également office de lac de loisirs. Outre la baignade, les sports nautiques courants y sont autorisés (sous réserve de certaines restrictions), car sa vocation première n'est pas l'approvisionnement direct en eau potable, mais principalement l'usage agricole. L'eau du lac n'est pas acheminée vers les cuisines des habitations de Saint-Julien-du-Verdon, ce beau village situé sur ses rives. Quant à l'eau destinée aux autres villes, elle subit un traitement poussé et une filtration en plusieurs étapes dans des installations spécialisées, bien après avoir quitté le lac. ~VVVVV+++~

Lake Castillon is an artificial reservoir formed in 1948 by the construction of the Castillon Dam, but it also serves as a recreational lake. In addition to swimming, standard water sports are permitted (subject to certain restrictions), as its primary purpose is not direct drinking water supply but rather agricultural use. Water from the lake is not piped to the kitchens of homes in Saint-Julien-du-Verdon, the beautiful village situated on its shores. As for water destined for other towns, it undergoes extensive treatment and multi-stage filtration at specialized facilities, long after leaving the lake. ~VVVVV+++~

such an attractive scene...the village is a fine, compact size, and the lake seems ideal..
