Long-eared owls are mostly silent and do not vocalize outside of the spring breeding season. Likely not heard after mid-August.

I notice that the Long-eared Owl surveys end mid-August likely because they no longer vocalize after mid-August. Juvenile begging calls can probably be heard from spring into mid-August.
