Devastation on Capitol Hill

Numerous trees were downed in a powerful thunderstorm last night, including several on our block and three on the next block up. We thought the shredded umbrella on our deck and flooding in our basement was the worst of it, but that was nothing compared to what some neighbors experienced.

Unpredictable sever weather seems to be more common this year. According to the latest report from the United Nations, this is our future going forward, V

It's indeed upsetting to hear about this damaging storm and see a picture of this big fallen tree. Hope your basement will dry up soon, Don't overwork and hurt your back. Take care. ~VVVVV+++~

The storm has high winds glad you got off with minor issues, and no one was injured the one car may have some damage in this photo.
Hope we are done with these storms for a while that is fairly large tree that went down,

Flooded basement? Yikes. Looks like there wasn't a car under this tree. I recently had some trees trimmed because one was hanging over my screenroom. While the guy was up in the tree he said "You know your gutter is damaged." I never would have known that had someone not been up in the tree. Problem happened when a tree brushed by the house during Hurricane Helene a few years ago.

Wow, first, glad no one was injured and then, it's so sad to see such a beautiful and majestic tree fall.
