From less than 15 yards, I saw the silhouette of a bird, so I quickly returned to the vehicle and grabbed my bag to prepare my gear. While doing these preparations I recalled the bird’s distracting background and the unpleasing foreground, so I knew I had a ton of things to do. In a short time I was ready, although in the real world the bird would have gone most of the time.
