The statue of Pope Benedict XIII is located in Gravina's Cathedral Square, in front of the Basilica.
Pope Benedict XIII (Benedetto XIII, 2 Febr. 1649 - 21 Febr. 1730) was born in Gravina in Puglia as Pietro Francesco Orsini.
He was head of of the Catholic Church and ruler of the Papal States from 29 May 1724 to his death in February 1730.
