A *Litfaßsäule* is a cylindrical advertising column located in public street spaces, used for displaying posters and outdoor advertising.
It was invented in 1854 by the Berlin printer Ernst Litfaß to put a stop to the indiscriminate posting of bills on houses and trees.

This advertising pillar is located at the Haidhausen district around Preysingplatz – one of the loveliest little corners of the city, which has a Parisienne flair!
The pillar displays various posters advertising local events and cultural activities.
