Food trucks are literally everywhere in DC and are very popular with tourists. A recent oped in The Washington Post said they are operated by a “food truck mafia,” charge outrageous prices, violate basic health and safety standards and due to high licensing fees, are for the most part operating illegally, with the authorities inept at stopping them. This one was seen outside the US Treasury building and right next to a restaurant with an outdoor patio.
