Two-lined Burrowing Bug

Pangaeus bilineatus

The two-lined burrowing bug (Pangaeus bilineatus), also known as the peanut burrowing bug, is a small, shiny black insect belonging to the burrowing bug family (Cydnidae).

It measures 3/16 to 5/16 inches long, lives mostly underground, and uses spined legs to dig through soil where it feeds on plant roots and seeds.
