Sterling Castle Graveyard

Sterling, Scotland

The massive Sterling Castle was one of a number of castles we visited. This graveyard overlooks part of the city of Sterling which has been called the gateway to the highlands based on it's location. The church in the background is I believe The Church of the Holy Rude based on images I found on the internet.

A splendid elevated view across Stirling’s historic graveyard, where rows of weathered headstones cast long shadows in the shifting Scottish sunlight. There is something both peaceful and enduring here — a quiet resting place surrounded by the living landscape of Scotland....Excellent! V
