Queenie was attacked by an off-leash pit bull in the park Saturday morning. The owner, whom nobody knows but who comes to the park often, was in the park but not paying any attention to what the dog was doing, and Tim says the pit bull wrestled Queenie to the ground. He thought she was OK, but when we were at the vet for a routine visit a few hours later, I noticed that some white fur on her face was pink. The vet said she had a puncture wound that doesn’t require stitches but does call for antibiotic and anti-inflammatory drugs.

Andrew has gotten into fights with this guy in the past for letting his dog run wild and actually has some pictures of him. I’m going to call the District’s animal control to report the attack, but Andrew thinks he’s some kind of law enforcement officer and that as a result, nobody will stop him from endangering other people’s dogs.
