The objects shown are spolia from the Roman wall in Augsburg,
The collection includes ancient Roman tombstones, inscriptions, and sculptural fragments from the time when Augsburg was the Roman city of Augusta Vindelicum.
In the center is a relief of the god Mercury, featuring his characteristic attributes such as the caduceus (Mercury's staff).
The stones date originally from the 1st to the 3rd century AD and were later reused to fortify the city.
