Predatory Stinkbug eggs

Ottawa East

A cluster of spiky stinkbug eggs, the spikes are a giveaway that these eggs are of stinkbugs such as the spined soldier bug, a beneficial insect which feeds on at least 100 species of so-called pest insects, like aphids, beetle larvae, moth larvae, etc. For an example of a beneficial stink bug, see: https://pbase.com/laroseforest/image/168943451

Sharp eyes to spot these. They do look pretty in spite of their name.
