The municipality of Espolla straddles the Albera massif and the Alt Empordà plain. On the mountainous side there are various trails that will take you to places of interest, including some megalithic monuments. Meanwhile, the plain is dotted with vineyards and olive groves that produce high-quality crops, as you can see for yourself in January’s Olive and Olive Oil Fair. Set between the mountains and the plain, this peaceful town is rich in traditions and retains traces of its mediaeval past.
