Ceramics Of Apulia

Alberobello, Apulia, Southern Italy

On the right - the pumo of Puglia (Pumo Pugliese).
It's a traditional ceramic figurine from the Apulia region of Italy, known for its symbolic and artistic qualities.
It depicts a stylized flower bud surrounded by three acanthus leaves.
It is a decorative talisman, symbolizing luck, renewal and local tradition.
Pumo (plural pumi) is made of terracotta and often glazed in different colors - white, green, red, yellow, brown and blue, using hand-sculpting and relief techniques.
As a gift it is intended to bring luck and prosperity at the start of a new journey - such as wedding, childbirth or new house and business opening.
