Stirling Castle

Stirling, Scotland

Stirling Castle dates back the the 12th century but most of the present buildings were built between 1490 and 1600. Names such as Mary Queen of Scots, Willian Wallace (Brave Heart in the movie) and Robert Bruce all have connections to the castle. The Battle Of Bannockburn where Robert The Bruce and the Scots defeated the English for their independence happened within sight of the castle walls. This battle was referenced in the movie "Brave Heart" at the end of the movie. This was a must stop and visit destination on our drive back towards Edinburgh. This castle was just one example of the history that a tour of Scotland can provide visitors. The three people in the foreground viewing the castle are my daughter-in-law Heather and my grandsons Owen and Wyatt.

I thought it's one of your paintings when I looked at the thumbnail. Excellent presentation with the wall in the foreground and further more, your daughter-in-law and the two little ones. Hope they enjoyed the trip. ~VVVVV+~
