Substitute peony

The peonies are blooming in northwest DC, but not yet in our backyard. One plant has no buds, and the other has many of them, but none have bloomed, and I fear they may not open at all, continuing a problem we’ve had in the past with these two peonies.

No one can tell how many layers of petals there are in this flower. Fabulous color. Hope you'll have good news, seeing them in full bloom. ~VVVVV~

Many, many years ago I planted peonies in a spot where there isn't enough sun. Some years I get one of two buds. This year I have one. I am jealous. V
