Glad I was looking where I was going this morning! I found this little Painted Turtle (a little bigger than a quarter) in the middle of the trail. This road is no longer open to vehicles, but with people, dogs and bikes it's lucky it made it as far. I picked it up and took it to some vernal pools in the direction it was headed.
