The Hawa Palace was built right on a main road with a lot of traffic and activities.
The facade full of arches and windows, is a masterpiece of Rajput architecture designed for three primary purposes: privacy, natural air conditioning, and aesthetic beauty.
Built in 1799, the 953 small windowed niches allowed the royal ladies to view the busy streets of Jaipur without being seen, adhering to the strict purdah tradition.
