“I have to be honest with you America — I always thought Pete Hegseth got this position because of connections. Because of politics. Because of favors. And then my friend called me last night. He served. Army. Two deployments. Came back a completely different person. We were talking and his name came up — Pete Hegseth — and my friend went completely silent on the phone. Then he said — “Bro. That man bled for this country before he ever had a title. Don’t you dare call it a favor.” I had nothing to say. So I looked it up. And what I found made me put my phone down and just sit there. Pete Hegseth joined the Army as an infantry officer and served in Guantanamo Bay, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Three deployments. Three times he raised his hand and said — take me.

Princeton graduate. Could have chosen Wall Street. Could have chosen comfort. Could have chosen the easy life that elite universities open doors to.
He chose a uniform instead. Two Bronze Stars. A Combat Infantryman Badge. Those are not handed out. They are earned in the dirt. In the dark. Far from home. And my friend — who never cries — his voice cracked when he said — “We needed someone in that room who actually knows what it costs. Pete knows.” Trump did not pick Pete Hegseth because it was convenient.

He picked the one man who had already proven — long before any camera or title — that he would give everything for this country. That is not politics. That is God placing the right soldier in the right room at exactly the right moment.”
