Cádiz. Alameda Apodaca

The Alameda Apodaca, also known as the Alameda del Marqués de Comillas, is one of the most iconic public spaces on Cádiz 's waterfront . This landscaped promenade, oriented east-west, runs parallel to the historic city walls, between the Baluarte de la Candelaria and the San Carlos Walls. Its elevated position above the coastline, its terraced design, and its meticulously maintained vegetation make it one of the most cherished spots in the old town. The promenade's layout, adapted to the profile of the city wall, has a slightly broken line. Its plan combines circular pavilions and rectangular halls, organized around a central axis where the monument to the Marquis of Comillas is located, the point of articulation between the two sections of the promenade, historically known as the Upper Hall and the Lower Hall.
