Cádiz. Plaza de las Flores

The Plaza de las Flores is a popular urban area characterized by the colorful flower stalls that occupy its central space. Its usual vibrancy increases during Carnival celebrations, as most of the street theater groups concentrate in the vicinity of Plaza de la Libertad.
With the closure of the Plaza de las Flores and on the site of the former Convent of the Discalced Carmelites, the Post and Telegraph building was inaugurated in 1930, a work of eclectic regionalist forms, made of bricks with decorative elements in glazed ceramic, which contrasts with the traditional architecture of the surrounding environment.
