Old Tongueless

Budepest

A popular urban legend says the lions have no tongues.
While untrue, they are designed to be viewed from below or from the bridge deck,
making their tongues less visible from most angles.
The lions are a central feature of the Széchenyi Chain Bridge,
the first permanent bridge to span the Danube in Budapest.

Funny to hear that some people would discuss if lions have tongues. I wonder if they argue how come this lion only got two teeth. Forget about what they say, it's a very nice photo anyway, tongue or no tongue. ~VVVV~

no tongue surely means no ice cream...still it is the teeth that are truly menacing....love the Robert Plant hair..

The old boy looks rather tired, but still an iconic figure to enjoy. V
