Indigo bunting, male

Ottawa East

A singing male sitting in a tangle of wild grapevines. Unfortunately, this area of several hundred acres is rapidly being decimated for development; the numerous birds that once bred there have vanished. I haven't seen an indigo bunting there since this photo nearly 4 years ago.

Nice catch of this singing male. Very sad. I think I only saw one last year.

Beautiful photo of this wonderful bird. A shame the habitat is lost.

So sad when the birds disappear…they have destroyed so many forests on our island with no regard for the birds or wildlife…not so many different birds visit my bird feeder these days…Beautiful capture of this little song bird…I hope they return…BV

a vibrant image...land development can be so devastating to the natural world, and not often carried out with a true sense of balance..
