Compliments of the DC government

The DC Department of Public Works brought in bobcats and shoveled the snow and ice in our alley so the trash could be picked up, which also gave residents a way to get out. Unfortunately, as has happened on streets all over the city, they didn’t remove the ice but instead left it in huge piles like this, one of several in our alley. The temperature will be well below freezing until Wednesday, when hopefully the ice will start melting

Nice photo taken from a good point of view. Now I know what your alley looks like. It's not the whole width yet, I can imagine the alley is as wide as a side street. We also have a lot of these mini Alps here and there, waiting to thaw. ~VVVVV~
