Remembering Kato

This past fall my son's family cat was hit and killed by a car.
Kato was eleven years old and had a wonderful life.
He was born on the streets of our local town and brought into our office as a kitten.
My son and his family brought him home at about eight weeks old.
He was a wonderful pet but could not be contained inside.
He knew everyone in the neighborhood and made his rounds daily.
He is missed not only by my son's family but by the whole neighborhood as well.
I am all for keeping cats indoors but there are some who are miserable when made to stay inside.
Kato was one of those cats, he had a happy life.
Rest in peace crazy boy.

Oh, what sad, sad news. I am so sorry to hear this. I know there are some cats who seemingly hate being inside. I adopted a stray like that, but all my cats are indoor cats and he learned - in time, but it was a bit of a struggle. I am glad Kato had a happy life. V

We have always had indoor cats and just can't imagine being comfortable with one running around outdoors, crossing streets, running from predators both animal and human , but realize that there are some that just can't be indoors all the time like Kato and you need to insure they are happy.
So glad he had a good full life with his humans and hope he passed quickly without pain.
