The boat was built in 1975 and named MV Dayspring and it worked for many years trawling for mackerel and herring in the North Sea. Its name was later changed to MV Golden Harvest. In 2011 the boat was tied up at Camusnagaul Bay on Loch Linnhe undergoing long term repairs. On 8th December 2011 a severe storm broke the retaining chain holding the boat and it was washed up where it lies today. In the distance is Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain.
