Withheld John Victor Cooper

I woke up and this was on my wrist.

Withheld

I was having a minor operation at a major hospital. The second best in the world I was told.
The surgeon discussed the operation with me. I noticed in the paperwork a mention of the risk of Total Paralysis. This worried me a lot, really and truly a lot. I asked the surgeon about the risk. He totally dismissed it. Said the risk is so low to not even think of it. Of course I believed him. He is a surgeon at the second best hospital in the world.
When I woke up after the operation, a bit dozy. They put me in a ward to rest and recover.
I noticed a bright green wrist strap on my wrist. This one, the one that reads High Risk of Paralysis.
I made the effort to see the surgeon, but was unable to get to him. I wont name the hospital or the surgeon.

Tom
The surgeon lied to me, it was a huge lie.
So what other lies did he tell me.
Was everything he said a lie.
I had given the instruction Do Not Resuscitate before the operation.

I guess that's better than waking up with a "do not resuscitate" band on your wrist 8-)

The most important discovery was that of not being paralyzed
