Three bridges cross the estuary of the River/Afon Conwy and these are well seen in this view from the castle walls. On the right is the modern road bridge from 1958. In the middle is Thomas Telford's suspension bridge from 1822-1826 and on the right is ther ailway bridge from 1846-48 with its two tubular girder spans designed by Robert Stephenson.
