Striking a pose

On Sunday I saw a butterfly on my next-door neighbor’s Mexican sunflowers from our front window but figured by the time I got my camera, moved Queenie out of the way and got out the door, it would be gone, so didn’t try to catch it. But in the afternoon I saw more of them — monarchs and swallowtails — all over the flowers, so this time I grabbed my camera and ran outside. They were there for hours, into the early evening, and I managed to get a few shots, although the swallowtails were constantly on the move and hard to capture. The monarchs were a bit easier since they almost always struck the same pose.
