Tall undergrowth

view map

Did a hike at Big Basin State Park, in the Santa Cruz mountains.

Five years after the devastating August 2020 CZU lightning complex fires.

The surviving Redwood trees look fuller, with green branches along the tree trunks.

The normal Redwood tree canopy is gone, thus the under growth is towering along the trails.

The main part of the park is still closed for hiking.
Talking the volunteer, this part of the park was devastated from the fires.

on the Middle ridge road.

Nature is resilient all right. It's good to see the greens are growing back. It's gonna be a long journey I guess. TFS Bryan.
